I’m suppose to be getting ready for work right now. Instead I feel the need to post. Really to ramble on about things that better bloggers and other new sources have covered in depth. There are really just a few things to know about me. I love Jesus, my husband, cooking, and the St Louis Cardinals. In fact, I’m just crazy about the Cards. We slept all day and I didn’t check the Internet or the news when we got up tonight. In fact, I’ve been trying to get ready for getting out of town tomorrow. My father-in-law told me the news that a Cards pitcher had died in an auto accident.
I didn’t kick off my shoes or drop my purse when we got home but went straight to the computer. Where, indeed, we had lost a Cardinal. Josh Hancock was 29 years old-just a year older than me-and was killed Saturday night/Sunday morning. The details are all over the net. My first thought was, “First Daryl Kile and now this.” Kile passed away in his hotel room in Chicago in 2002 from a heart condition. Tonight’s game against the Cubs was postponed.
Memorial service scheduled for Thursday in Tupelo Mississippi where Hancocok was raised. The Cards will charter a flight to attend.
My next

selfish thought was about how hard it is going to be to put together a winning season that takes us back to the World Series. After DK every announcer and stat man put out there stats about it being a million years since a team came back. All I ask is that we simply play baseball well and for Josh this year.
Jack Buck-Daryl Kile-Josh Hancock.

Well, I thought I would post today for some reason. Work was Hell Nite. We had three or four teams in house tonight. I get into work at 1100 pm and by 1130 pm I had complaints from three of four floors. I found girls sitting in the hallway outside of rooms when I did floor checks. Floor checks is basically me taking the elevator up to the fourth floor and walking the floor, then taking the stairs to the next floor, and repeat. By 100 am I was a basket case with these hellions. Where are the coaches? Where are the parents? Jesus. I hate working weekends for this reason and I HATE ball teams. Go home and leave me alone.
So I ran by the hubby’s work for some kisses and then home. I’ve got some Alanis Moressitte blaring from the ‘puter. Don’t go giving me any grief-this is great work-sucks cure. Sure beats getting sloshed. I’m just glad the hubby won’t be home for another hour. I can get through Jagged Little Pill in that time.
Has anyone else out there read I Captured the Castle? I am working my way through it and it has been interesting. I kinda like it and I am kinda bored with it. I think it may be my current funk. A lot of great reviews for this book and I’m just wondering if I’m the only one slightly bored with it.
Well, I’m going to go play with Netflix. I so wanna see The Queen and the hubby doesn’t so I’ve got to do some rearranging. Have a great day. Ciao!

The hubby and I went out for a late lunch today at Schlotszy’s and tried two of their new sandwiches. I had the Philly Dilly and Chris had the Cheesy Bacon Beefy sandwich. Both were excellent and very filling.
Stopped by the in laws but no one home. We stayed a while and I was able to watch some of the Cardinals game today. We have DirecTV and in October they will come get their equipment because I can not watch my games. Apparently I’m in market or some BS like that. No baseball means no customer. Not happy about missing my games. Last year and the year before I would get ready for work watching the game. Not this year. My local cable provide shows these games on their channel. We don’t get FSN Midwest so I don’t get the post game show but hey at least I get the game.
Today I am going to rest well and fix some dinner tonight. I’ve got pork chops laid out so I’ll add some noodles with bread crumbs, a veggie. Add some cottage cheese and a salad and the husband will be a very happy camper.
I’m getting sleepy this morning so I’m off for coffee or something. Have a great day/weekend. Ciao!

Well the prose and pose here at Lateshift Musings have lacked recently. Not feeling the best in the world-nothing serious-and I am still feeling tired and worn out. Kinda like I just can’t get into the next gear. I’ve had a couple of thoughts about posts but they haven’t happened yet.
Chris and I have made tentative plans to go to Springfield Missouri next Tuesday to see a baseball game. Seems I can get a cheap room through the employee discount. Maybe the mall and I would love to go see the Bass Pro Shops big store. I would love to go to the zoo. We may have to come back at a later date. We plan on going on Monday and being back in Tulsa on Tuesday. I have an employee meeting that Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully it will work out.
I’ve got to take my sister to work in the morning. I know we need to do laundry this weekend. I need to make a library run. Groceries need to be bought. I have some stuff to take to Salvation Army to get rid off. Possibility of Chris’ Aunt Cindy having an estate sale so we can possible go crash that. I had some pictures developed so I need to upload those to flickr. Sleep, lots and lots of sleep. That and pay a few bills. Sounds like a great weekend, doesn’t it? I’ll also change the quotes on the side of my blog this weekend so take a quick peek before they disappear!
Have a great day and start to your week. Ciao!
