Cityscapes

March 31, 2007

~Cityscapes~

By the way…
Miami or Honolulu?
Honolulu-Miami seems awfully busy and loud and fast paced.
Nashville or Dallas?
Nashville-Dallas/Ft Worth is a bugger to get around in.
Chicago or Denver?
Chicago-Just because I think it gets less snow.
New York City or Los Angeles?
Neither-NYC is too cosmo and LA is too sprawled and has too much traffic.
Washington D.C. or Boston?
DC-The Smithsonian Museums alone make me want to live there for a year.
Last but not least….Paris or London?
Paris-The Louvre, Eiffel, French Bakeries, and London is a short hop away!

Play along here if you wish.

Rings and Stuff

March 31, 2007
So after spewing all over this blog the other day things have gotten somewhat better. There’s the Wannemacher Gun Show in Tulsa this weekend so everyone is full. Even us in Broken Arrow are full. The Wannemacher Gun is apparently the largest in the world. Somehow I find that hard to believe.
Chris and I paid on our rings this past weekend and I will be getting my solitaire next month! I’m so excited. They measured my wedding band so they could size it. Hopefully they can solder it together in a couple of hours when we go pay around the fifteenth and then I can have the ring in a couple of hours. I am so happy.
Thanks to all those stopping by from the different memes I do. Gracias for visiting. Also go visit
5 Minutes for Mom as they are giving away a 500.00 Dyson vacuum cleaner. Awesome dude. I’ve entered and it was so easy. Please pick me!! I have temporarily stolen my MIL’s second vacuum. Someday I’ll return it.
Well, the hubby’s on the phone and my tummy is growling so I’m off. Have a great day! Ciao!

Top Five Albums

March 31, 2007
From the Music Memoirs this week’s question is what five albums can’t you live without. And why (obviously).
I am Shelby Lynne by Shelby Lynne. One very awesome album about someone having a very rough stretch in life. It’s just sing along, turn it up, enjoy it type of thing that has some heavy weight when it comes to lyrics.
Essential Dean Martin by Dean Martin. This has all the Dino songs I need. Great for when you want some retro pop that is good.
Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. I can listen to this multiple times in a row. And get caught up in and find myself just sitting there enjoying the music.
Born to Run by Springsteen. This is the Springsteen album for me. I know nearly every word, turn it up loud and just enjoy.
Long Line of Leavers by Caedmon’s Call. I just don’t listen to much Christian music-it just puts me to sleep. However, this one has touched my soul. I find myself listening to it quite often when I am sitting at the ‘puter.
That’s my list. From Christian to retro pop to jazz to rock to alt-country/rock stuff. Eclectic is my middle name.

Friday Feast

March 30, 2007

Friday’s Feast has a new home!

Appetizer What are you proud of? Ouch-proud of? This week has been trial and tribulations. I am proud of the fact that I can and want to cook dinner for my husband.
Soup What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize? I won tickets to a rodeo for rewriting Kenny Rogers The Gambler into The Shopper at Christmas time. I then called a country station and read it on air. I took my dad as he had a license (I was 16!)
Salad Name something you do that is a waste of time. Trying to fit in with the Joneses.
Main Course In what year of your life did you change the most? Between December 2005 and December 2006. I had my first date December 26, 2005 and got married on on June 26, 2006.
Dessert Where is a place you consider to be very tranquil? Our home in Missouri. Three acres set on a gravel road. Not much traffic. I could hear myself think as I hung laundry up outside to dry :)

What I hate

March 29, 2007
I hate that my ears are plugged up. I hate that my sinus are causing this condition. I hate that hearing is severally impaired.
I hate it when the hubby has to take up most of the bed. I hate it when I wake feeling like I’ve had a knee planted in my middle back for five hours. I hate it when I can’t stretch and roll over without nearly falling out of bed. I hate it when he takes all the pillows.
I hate it when it storms at night and I have to work. I hate it when the newscasters talk about the potential for tornadoes. I hate it that every one not from the Midwest will be in my breakfast room if the weather does get rough.
I hate going to work. I hate dealing with teams. I hate dealing with stupid people. I hate dealing with drunks. I hate dealing with people who think I’m locking them out. I hate that they can’t figure out that to get back in you need to use your room key. I hate the phone ring off the hook. I hate running pillows/sheets/plungers to rooms as I am the only one at the front desk.
I hate morning breath. I hate being hot. I hate being awake.

Thursday Threesome

March 29, 2007

Onesome: Yankees– How about it? Are you a baseball fan? …or would you rather watch the grass grow? Baseball fan-die hard Cardinals fan.
Twosome: Opening– Day? Opening Season? Mervyn’s “Open, open, open” commercials? What opening do you wait for? Opening day-get some brats, some cheese dips and Tostitos, and the game on the tube. Nothing better (unless you are at the game!).
Threesome: Day– by day we learn something: playing hardball, what have you learned this week? (Okay, discoveries count…) Chris and I still have issues to work out, that I take things too hard and don’t know how not to take them so hard, and that I still love my hubby bunches!

Work and Stress

March 25, 2007
So I just managed to piss off my hubby. All because work has me so totally stressed out. It was nonstop with the phones for about an hour. Then after midnight it got quiet. Then someone would come down or go to the express mart and then the phone would ring. Some one in the fourth floor said their room smelled of puke and did I have an disinfected. Would I bring it up?
Then someone on three wanted four pillows. Four! I couldn’t find a one. Phone, phone, phone, phone, stupid question, walk-in, phone, phone, guest at desk but can’t help them because of phone, phone, phone. Got called a bitch. Then she comes in and says it wasn’t too me. Right. Wasn’t born yesterday Missy.
In addition my tailbone and hip is bothering me again. I can’t seem to get my express checkouts folded. Let alone, running them.
Another room on another floor came down pissed. Her baseball team wasn’t together and now her neighbors are keeping her up at 200 am. Not happy. Well, sweets, neither am I. Now, my hubby isn’t happy either. Ain’t life grand.
I’m off to get express check outs folded and delivered. Have a better day than me-Ciao!

    Cardinals and Blogs

    March 23, 2007
Have I posted today? I don’t think so. Anyway I’ve got a couple things on my mind before I go post my check and crash for the night (day, whatever). I’ve posted a couple of comments on other bloggers! I am proud of myself. I thought the Feast was somewhat difficult but I dug deep and b.s. about it. Actually, it is the truth just wrapped in sarcasm.
So the second things is that I am a Cardinals fan. Redbird nation fan, all the way. Tim Ellsworth has a great blog I’ve discovered and enjoyed. However I about swallowed my tongue yesterday. Appears Tony La Russa, Cards skipper, was fast asleep at a traffic light in Florida. Cops found him and arrested him. He spent the night in jail before bailing out this morning. He has said that he is contrite and apologizes for any embarrassment to the Cardinals organization. Just really floored me. Bill DeWitt, Cards Chairman, has said there will be no punishment. I think public humiliation is enough, perhaps. I just really don’t know what to think personally. Besides, OH MY GOD!!!
So, I’m going to go over the budget and then to the gas station and bank. My hubby let my gas get low in my car. Maybe we will make it to the store. Have a great day!
