Work and more work

September 30, 2006
Well-a new look and I’m still playing with the look. Upgraded the blog to beta which makes things easier to mess with. So expect more changes to come.
Meeting went wonderful today. And yes, that sarcasm. Found out I’m working every day for at least 12 days straight. Wonderful. So no Monday nite movie date with my man. We were going to go the Tulsa State Fair on Tuesday and see Gary Allan in concert. No go on that now. I am so disappointed. Was looking forward to some funnel cakes and corn dogs. I really hope that Chris goes on Monday with some guys. A couple of rock bands are playing and I really hope he goes. Did I state how much I hope he goes?
So here we go again with the multiple days of work. The key seems to be to keep some sort of schedule. Make sure and make it to the library once a week. Get the laundry done and put up. Get up and cook supper and watch my TV shows. Spend some time with Chris. Most importantly, get plenty of sleep and liquids. Take care of oneself.
On the plus side will be a little overtime-great since I missed two days last week. One of my checks may be short. Downside is well-12 days at work.
Well, I need to go do some apartment hunting before we settle on something. Anyhoo and anyway, ciao!

Work Sucks

September 29, 2006
I feel so blah right now. Work was a total witch from 1100 pm to about 130 am. Couldn’t seem to get anything accomplished. Phones literally rang off the hook. It was a madhouse.
May do something else housingwise. At least it looks like there are things in the wind that may be interesting. We shall see.
Didn’t get up this afternoon so it’s off to Laundromat sometime this morning. Then a meeting at 900 am at work. I’m not sure but seems there’s something else we’ve got to do today. Nah-didn’t want to sleep. Sleeping is for sissies. Yes, I’m being a smart ass. Life has made me want to crawl under the covers and sleep for 3 days.
And on that note I’m going to sign off. Ciao!

Found

September 28, 2006
Okay-so blogger is being difficult at the moment. I’m going to have to delete my post I did earlier and hope this one publishes. Weekend recap for y’all: spent money on groceries (and we’ll probably have groceries for three weeks!), found a place to live, didn’t fight this weekend (few quibbles-but that’s to be expected), and I got to see Billy Bob in Slingblade. What a movie! Thanks baby for wanting me to see this-I loved it!
As for the living situation-it’s another apartment in another complex. Nice apartment though-big bay window in the living room and a nice size kitchen. It even has a full size stove! Room for the table-I thinking we won’t need the microwave cart but we shall see. May end up using it in another room in the house. This place also comes with a storage closet so that will come in handy. Some place to put my artificial tree and Christmas decorations, fine china from Grandma Bay, the red Avon from Grandma Green, keepsake stuff (yearbooks and scrapbooks), you know stuff. I loved the two bedroom but Chris doesn’t want it because he doesn’t know what we’d put in it. I’m not 100% sure we’re ready for nearly $600 rent. We’ll go with the one bedroom and take it from there.
What I am excited about is a fresh start. Some of the things I used to hang on my walls will be stored. I’ve got some Western artwork that I don’t want to get rid of so it will be stored. I’m thinking we’ll put it in the second bedroom/den/office when we do go that route. I’ve got some things from childhood I’ll store away for the nursery. You know, I don’t know what’s left. I would love to get my chili pepper lights out and string them in the kitchen. I’ve got a bulletin board that I want to put in there along with a dry erase board I would like to get. The living room will be bare for a while but I’ll (we’ll) find something to put on the walls. I’m not the best decorator but I would like to spend some money on things to make our home-well home. Then there’s furniture. The big green chair is on it’s way out the door (unless reupholstered is feasible). We need a small couch or love seat. I would love to have a bistro table set but at least we got something to eat on. All in due time I’m sure.
Well, audit is done so I’m off to do more work. Ciao!

Music blues

September 24, 2006
You know what, I think I’m turning into my mom. Or at least some middle aged person. I cleaned house to (you might want to sit down for this) the soft rock station. And I sang along with every song. I knew about every song and every word. And I enjoy it. Shocking isn’t it. Now I’m putting Jim Croce on the request list on my library. And looking forward to getting it in! Aaahhh! Someone find me my GNR!
Also, on my request list is a couple of the Playboy jazz albums. I kind of snickered when I typed Playboy into the “author” section on the online library. But you know what-I got like three returns. Go to Amazon or Barnes and Noble and type in “Playboy.” Just make sure that you got “music” selected. Otherwise the results could be interesting and not work-friendly.
So I’m mellowing musically. Great-I couldn’t keep up with the hubby before this and now I’m getting even more lite. At least I’m not wanting to drag him to a Barry Manilow concert anytime soon. (I checked-he’s got a regular show in Vegas nowhere near Okie).
So anyway-it was a perfectly crappy and crabby morning. Hubby wouldn’t get out of bed, throat was hurting and I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. Slept well last night and deep and long but still I just wanna crash. Poor poor me. Anyhoo-I got to make it through tonight then I’m off again. Go to the library get me some jazz. Chill out, find a new home. Oh crap-oughta go do some looking. Adios!

I’m Back!!

September 23, 2006
Well, it’s poring here in T-Town. Hubby is happy and I’m glad to hear the thunder. Now only if we were off and in bed! Chance of showers through the overnight and into the morning and high of 74. Nice weather!
Glad to be back at work. I had nearly 300 spam mail and 99 e-mails because I haven’t checked it in nearly five days. Was nice to do some Babbling since it’s been a while. Lots to check and do on the web tonight!
Well, as the hubby reported on latenightcoffey I did indeed go to the e.r. on Wednesday morning. Sick as a dog-main symptom was a very swollen throat and glands. Didn’t want to eat or drink. They prescribed some very strong antibiotics, some steroids to make the swelling go down, and some Vicoden for the pain. Of course, to get feeling better you have to swallow. Not an easy task but twenty minutes later things were good. Also got out of work for two days. That’s nice.
Cleaned the house top to bottom yesterday. Make a cake and two batches of cookies. I’m gonna have to bring some to work for everyone to share. When Chris got home yesterday I had candles lit, house scrubbed, trash out front for him to take out, and I was freshly showered and smelling good. He has decreed I can only work weekends! Ha!
The throat is slowly-oh so slowly-starting to feel better. Lots of liquids and lots of rest and keep the meds going. Hopefully I’m still not dealing with this in a week or so. Then I have to go get a blood test for mono. Yuck.
Well, I need to break and call the hubby. Later gators!

Beef Stew

September 18, 2006

This is what’s for supper tonight. Looks yummy right. My stiff neck is starting to feel like I’ve got strep throat or tonsillitis. Yeah. Perhaps an adjustment tomorrow at the chiro and lots sleep (and liquids) will help kick this thing. I’m headed home early tonight and I just can’t wait to get home. Have a great weekend and see y’all back on Wednesday. Ciao!

News of the Weird

September 16, 2006
A baby is a welcome addition to any family. Usually it’s celebrated by an announcement in the paper. However, you may want to rethink having signs or other signs of celebration in your yard or on your house. A week-old newborn in Lonedell, Missouri. Lonedell is approximately 45 miles south of St. Louis. An attacker knocked on her door and asked to use the phone. Stephanie Ochsenbine consented and the person stepped into the house. At that point Stephaine was told by the person that she was there for her baby. While Stephanie was stabbed multiple times and her neck slashed she is recovering in a hospital. The baby, Abby Woods, is missing. Missouri Highway Patrol said that a sign announcing the arrival of baby Abby could be seen from a highway. Perhaps its time to rethink those front yard signs.
Ann Richards is now laying in state in the Texas capitol of Austin. She will be there for two days before her funeral and burial. Richards is the former Democratic governor of Texas from 1991-1995. Richards appointed more women and minorities to state posts than anyone before her.
In sports today, OSU, Mizzou, and Tulsa were all winners. OU lost by one point. St Louis beat the Giants again. Matt Morris (Matty Mo) was the pitcher for the Giants. It would have been nice to have watch this one. But alas, I was sleeping like a rock. By the way, our magic number is 9.
Ooh-one of my favorite topics to make fun of-celeb baby names. Brittney Spears had her newest on Tuesday in LA. The name is Sutton Pierce. What do you shorten that to? Better yet, can you imagine yelling out the back door, “Sutton Pierce Federline!” At least it isn’t Apple.
Today’s moon is waxing crescent which means that 23% of the moon is visible. (Ain’t the web grand?) I swear to God though it’s a full moon. We’ve got one of the gayest guys in house this weekend. I’ve had some of the weirdest phone calls. (So, like, y’all use to have, like, a fashion show, like, on Fridays, like. And we, like, use to, like, go there every day, like…I’m not making this up!) However this warm weather may have something to do with it. It’s been in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s for a few days now. A front should be moving through but it doesn’t look to come through till late afternoon. Bummer. I love sleeping during rainy days.
Marriage is just grand. No, I don’t mean that sarcastically. Somedays things just flow right along and everything is peachy. Sometimes nothing goes right. Then sometimes one of you is an ass and things then start to escalate. God’s been talking to me that if I want a good marriage then we have to work through the bad days. Rather, work through those issues that make them a bad day. Today Chris didn’t sleep well and when I tried to remind him that he needed to get up for work he barked at me. Later he said something about he has just as much to be grumpy as I do. He could have thrown cold water on me and not got me to stop as fast. I was just trying to be helpful, he just wanted to sleep. Made me think about when I’m grumpy. Still churning that over in my brain. Not sure what conclusions I’ll jump to but I’m definitely thinking about it. By the way, Hun, yes you do have every right to be grumpy.
Well, when I restarted this blog I started to get away from doing a news oriented daily blog for two reasons. One, it wasn’t satisfying to me to focus solely on news and two it’s hard to find news I want to repeat on a daily basis. Let’s see how long this news reporting last this time.
Well, my baby is on the phone. I’ll chat with y’all later. Ciao!

News of sort

September 16, 2006
I am a real idiot at the moment. I am cold, have to go pee, and my arm is numb. I’ve got a sweater in the back, a restroom a few seconds away, and could have gone to see the chiro today. Not the smartest cookie in the jar, now am I?
The barkeep of Murphy Brown has passed away of heart failure. Pat Corley also was on Hill Street Blues. If your old enough to remember that.
Speaking of heart failure a woman in her late 70’s went to a Chicago ER. She presented with the classic signs of a heart attack. A triage nurse labeled her as semi-urgent. Two hours later she was found slumped over unconscious. The Cook County (where Chicago is) coroner has deemed this death a homicide. It’s unclear whether the DA will proceed with any charges.
Looks like Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston are the newest couple to divorce. New that was coming as they had their own reality show. Hollywood couples have a habit of breaking up after reality shows.
Baseball news today is good as we whupped the Giants. Scott Rolen and Chris Duncan both hit a pair of homers apiece. The better news is that David Eckstein has been activated from the disabled list. The bad news is that our closer, Jason Isringhausen, needs hip surgery. Well, where would we be if everything was going our way?
Lots of new movies out I want to see. Hollywoodland came out last week. The Black Dahlia and Gridiron Gang both came out this week. Crank is something the hubby wants to see. Lots of movie viewing to be done!
The fall TV schedule is kicking in to gear. CSI and CSI Miami returns this week. Going to have to start getting up in the evenings now!
We had chili for supper even though it’s in the upper 80’s. Tomorrow is Frito Pie. Then I’m going to have to come up with something else. Probably do something with the pork chops in the freezer.
Well, I think I have babbled enough. See y’all tomorrow. Ciao!
