Lonnie Lee Fagg, aka Lonnie Harper, went missing on February 9th, 2005. He was born March 25, 1957 and was 47 years old. Lonnie is a white male with sandy colored hair that is long on the sides and going bald on top. He has blue eyes, a 3-4 inch scar across the base of his neck and missing several teeth. He was last seen wearing a red jersey that said, “Kansas City,” white pants, tennis shoes and socks, and a ballcap with Kansas City Chiefs on it. He was also carrying a red and white ice chest and blue luggage.
Lonnie traveled from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Los Angeles, California on a Greyhound bus. He called a family member at 245 am and said he was at 7th and Almeda and needed a ride. He has not been seen or heard from since then.

Restless in Tulsa

October 31, 2005
I got some of the most restless guests in house tonight. I’ve got two or three in the meeting room and everytime they come out they slam the door. It’s gotten to where I don’t jump anymore although it is driving me crazy. Not much happened over the weekend. Work apparently went on without me. Just kinda nuts-Halloween, full moon type of nuts. It’ll settle down after Monday-or should.
Rosa Parks became the first woman to lie in honor under Capital Rotunda this weekend. Flags flew at half staff-I think tomorrow also they will fly at half staff. I think that Mrs. Parks passing has really shown those of my generation-the dreaded Gen-Xers-and those younger that you can make a difference. All you have to do is stand up-or sit down in this case-for what you believe is just and right. There was no violence to Mrs. Parks act and yet she changed America for all that live here. It gives me goose bumps to think of it.
I’ve been wanting to do something, anything with this forum to make a difference or simply do something. I’m a huge fan of AMW and John Walsh always ends with “And remember, you can make a difference.” I decided that we see a lot of missing kids from flyers to mail circulars to Wal-Mart entry-way boards. We need to find these kids and bring them home, don’t get me wrong. There is also a bunch of missing adults. Adults that are not just young and white and beautiful. They are old and middle age. Poor and middle class. Hispanic and Asian and Native American and black. Some have been missing so long the picture looks like something from a photo book. Dated and faded, maybe black and white. So I decided to follow John Walsh’s advice. Every Sunday (sometimes Monday) I post a missing person from the National Center for Missing Adults. I got a comment this weekend from Mimi at Miss My Girls about her daughter Jennifer and granddaughter Adrianna Wix. I did the Wixes missing person back in September 27, 2005. Upon checking out her site she mention that Montel did a show that gave her girls national coverage and that more info was available at his website. Check out Miss My Girls. Check out NCMA. Or AMW. With so missing men, women, and children you just may know someone or have information.
Well, sorry I missed Friday. I got locked out of the internet computer at work. Had a good weekend-got some much needed sleep. Dyed my hair-turned out red. Did some baking, some shopping, got some more conditioner. No more adding more and more water just to get something out of my old bottle. Real exciting stuff.
Well, y’all check out this week’s missing person report and I’ll see ya tomorrow.

Another slow day

October 27, 2005
Except for the Hampton Inn behind me-they have a hostage situation. We’ve got cop cars all over the place so for this evening I feel fairly safe. Not much going on at work-I had a guest apologize to me for going ape-crazy over having a handicap room. He booked it and didn’t realize he was getting a handicap room. At least he apologized. I had nearly 20 calls for one room last night. I didn’t realize it but I was sighing while I was punching numbers to transfer to the room. He called me on it and went on about me for five minutes. I apologized three times and asked if there was any thing I could do for him. Get over it, bubba, you called me!
File this under sure signs your job is driving you crazy. I have a round chaffing dish we sit on the countertops and fill with biscuits. It was missing yesterday. So in the pass along book I wrote: “This is an All Points Bulletin for a missing chaffing dish. Dish is round in size and silver in color. Went missing at an undetermined time on 25 October 2005. If seen, please return to XX Pantry. Suspected, but unknown, perpetrators involved should be considered in danger if they are caught as Breakfast Putter Outter is upset. Thank you.” My dish grew legs and return to me tonight. However, I think my job is still driving me crazy.
The pass along book is a notebook we keep notes on and every shift reads the book so we know whats going on. For example, we’re suppose to delivery papers every morning to points members. I’ve left notes for the past couple of days like 41 XX members and 40 papers. 316 needs a remote. 109 has leftovers in fridge from previous guest (gross, housekeeping is slacking). Call Fedex and have them pick up a guest’s prepaid boxes at the desk. Dumb and Dumber tried to get a lower rate after being told by management, No. I refused (no not me, one of my coworkers). 205 needs shuttle to airport at 645 am. Get guest info (address, phone, ccd) on Direct Bill as per GM. Return left blue cooler to regular. 314 is locked out don’t readmit them! Room numbers have been changed but you get the drift. This book can be quite entertaining at times. At other times, we sit around and try to figure out what someone is trying to say. Handwriting sometimes leaves a lot to be desired around here.
Well, if you haven’t heard White Sox won the series. This opens up a 15 day trading period or negotiation period or something. Basically, baseball teams are going to try and keep certain guys and to do it in the next 15 days. Then it gets real quiet for the next four months. My God, what I am I going to do without baseball for the next four months?!?!?!?
Well, I am sputtering to a stop this morning. I will see you guys tomorrow.

Fall weather

October 25, 2005
It’s definitely a typical fall with the leaves changing and about to fall. This morning I had frost on my car and had to wait for it to defrost. (Note to self-get ice scraper out of storage ASAP.) As I was going home there was frost on the ground outside of town leaving the grass greenish yellow with a white topping. I can’t wait for it to snow now. As much as we complain about the cold, it is refreshing and needed. It makes us all slow down some, spend more time indoors with family and friends. It also kills all the pollen, mosquitoes, and other bugs. We’ve got another frost advisory for this morning so it may be all white again.
Has anyone else seen the Subway/NFL commercial where the guy forgets his bag of chips at the counter? I caught it last night on ESPN. The guy working there motions for the guy who forgot to “go deep.” He runs backward, zigzagging, and the counter guy tosses the bag of chips like a football. There’s another guy sitting with his girlfriend who jumps up and grabs the chips yelling, “Interception!” Almost as good as the I think Miller commercial where the two guys are on the billboard putting up a new ad when the decide they can finish tomorrow. Mainly because there’s a bar just below them and they want a beer. Then they cut from the guys enjoying a beer to the billboard they were working on. They were covering up a lumberjack with a lingerie ad. So you’ve got the lingerie and the lumberjack’s face and the words “Lumberjack Lingerie.” Quite funny-although I don’t think I did it any justice just now.
Wilma slammed through Florida Monday morning about 630 am. She just basically hit the lower third of the state from the Gulf side to the Atlantic. 3.5 million without power and $2-$9 billion in insured loss. US 1 is flooded which is the only road to the Keys and Key West. Good news is that Wilma isn’t expected to hit the US again. Maybe Maritime Provinces in Canada or in some form hit Britain.
Elmer “Len” Dresslar Jr passed away October 16th of cancer. Dresslar did many jingles and ads from the 60’s onward. He sang in a jazz band. He is mostly known for his “Ho Ho Ho” in the Jolly Green Giant ads.
Some baseball for the day. Coming back for the Cards will be Pujols, Edmonds, Eckstein, Molina, Rolen (hopefully healthy). Grudz is a free agent so second base is up in the air. With Edmonds back that fills Centerfield. However, Walker retired and Sander’s is a free agent so we could have left and right fields too fill. Good as Edmonds is I don’t think he can do all three positions. Taguchi and JRodriguez should be back.
In pitching, Carpenter and Mulder will be back. We’ve got Anthony Reyes that could become part of the rotation. Izzy is back to close things out again. Al Reyes will possible be out because of elbow surgery. Brad Thompson and Randy Flores is back. Tavarez and Eldred are free agents. Some speculation on King being traded. Morris is a free agent, Suppan has an option (word is that he’ll be back), Marquis is in arbitration and could become to expensive. All this could change at a moment. We’ll just have to wait and see what Jocketty does in the off-season.
Well, y’all I will see ya later. Have a great day.

Rosa Parks

October 24, 2005
Another uneventful day-eat sleep TV and work. I’ve been going through my recipes and starting my grocery list for this weekend. I feed Sarah now that she’s living with us and I’ve impressed her so far. We may not get rid of her once Manda leaves! I turned the furnace on this evening-it’s gotten rather nippy here in town. Low in the lower 30’s tonight with a frost advisory and then it’s 50/70 for the rest of the week. Perfect fall weather.
Rosa Parks passed away from natural causes Monday evening; she was 92. In 1955 Parks refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama, bus to a white man. She was arrested and fined $14. A little known preacher led a boycott of the Montgomery bus system. That preacher was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1957 she and her husband Raymond moved to Detroit because Rosa was having a hard time finding a job. She worked as an aide in the Detroit office of Democrat US Representative John Conyers from 1965-1988. Raymond passed away in 1977. She retired from Conyers office to spend more time at the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development, which was incorporated in 1987. It is devoted to developing leadership among Detroits young people and initiating them into the struggle for civil rights. In 1996 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and in 1999 was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. The medal is the highest national civilian honor. Rosa Parks was born in February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She finished high school after marrying Raymond in 1932. Mrs. Parks will be missed.
Another passing from this weekend was jazz vocalist Shirley Horn. Horn died from complications of diabetes at the age of 71 on Friday. She was nominated eight times for Grammy’s and recorded with Miles Davis. Her influence in the jazz genre include such fans as Diana Krall and Nora Jones.
Well, y’all, I’ve got to update my other blog. See ya tomorrow.

Missing: Virginia Lynn Uden

October 23, 2005

Virginia Lynn Uden was born on 10-6-1947 and was 32 years old at her disappearance. She went missing from Lander, Wyoming on 9-12-1980. She is a white female, 5′6″ and 170 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. She also has a birthmark on her left lower eyelid.
She was last seen leaving her mother’s residence with her two sons-that are also missing-in the vicinity of the 700 block of North Federal Court in Riverton, Wyoming. They were never seen or heard from again. They were believed to be traveling en route to see the boy’s adoptive father. Their station wagon was found a month later with blood found inside the vehicle.

Not much going on

October 23, 2005
It has finally turned chilly here in Tulsa. It’s suppose to dip down to the upper 30’s tonight and I might have frost on the car when I get out of work. I didn’t make it to the movies this weekend-nothing was showing that I wanted to see. Well, there are things out however I do not want to pay eight bucks for a movie in Tulsa when the Broken Arrow theater is four dollars. I know, cheap skate. I’ll either wait or add it to my Netflix list when they come out on DVD. Made a chowder for supper this weekend and with the chilly weather it went over well.
Wilma is a Cat 3 storm expected to make landfall before dawn. We shall see what she does. In baseball, White Sox lead the series 2-0. They are headed to the Juice Box for Tuesdays game. Go Sox!
Well, y’all, maybe a longer post tomorrow. See y’all later.

Good booking Photo

October 21, 2005
Tom DeLay has a nice booking photo-it almost looks like a campaign picture. He had his photo taken, fingerprinted, and released on $10, 000 bail. Another politician, another scandal.
Florida is prepping for Wilma who is expected to hit late Sunday. Right now Wilma is a Cat 4 but is expected to make US landfall as a Cat 3. Anyway you slice it, it’s another hurricane headed for the US.
Michael Jackson got called to serve on a jury. His lawyers are trying to get him out of it as he has permanently vacated the US for Bahrain. I figured Thailand would be more his speed with all the child prostitutes. Whatever floats your boat, Mike.
It’s official-Larry Walker is retiring. David Eckstien is getting married over Thanksgiving weekend. Free agents include Grudz, Sanders, Nunez, and Matt Morris. Shumaker is having surgery on his knee he’ll be out for four weeks. While it’s a little blue over at the Cards website the feeling is that life does go on. Postseason trading and deals can’t happen till 15 days after the end of the World Series. It sounds like Jocketty and crew are going to take some time off and then convene in a week or so to start looking at where we’re going. With Walker retiring, though, it will free up some serious money. Walker got just over 12 million dollars in 2005. There are possibilities, it’s just up to Jocketty and LaRussa (and the front office) to add to the team and get us back to playoffs in 2006.
No big plans this weekend. Weather is going to be nice. It his 91 degrees on Wednesday but Thursday was only 65. Weekend weather looks mild and sunny so we’ll see what I’m up to. I’m thinking a movie on Friday.
Well, y’all, I’ll see ya on Monday. Have a great weekend.

What a year

October 20, 2005
Well, it turned out that Roy Oswalt was Superman. We simply couldn’t get a good hit(s) off of this guy. We lost 4-1 and we lost the NLCS 4-2. I don’t want to be consoled with the thought that there is always next year. Right here, right now, this hurts. Once again an opposing team was celebrating on our field. Only next year, we’ll be in a new stadium with how many new players. Walker is almost certainly gone, Matty Morris is up in the air, Reyes is out for next year. His surgery on Tuesday went well. Rolen should be back. I just can’t think or describe how I feel. I’ll sum it up the best way I know how: Go White Sox!
